Three red lights in a row.
The universe is clearly against me.
By the time I get home I've built a whole story.
The city's broken. The timing's rigged. Nothing works.
But I didn't count the greens.
Straight through. No thought.
They don't ask to be noticed so they don't get noticed.
We keep a tally no one asked for.
The reds get written down. The greens get nothing.
And we wonder why the score looks so grim.
The lights aren't out to get you.
You drove the whole way angry at one that had already changed.
