There's a version of tonight where you do the wrong thing and nobody ever finds out.
You take what isn't yours. You say the cruel line and walk off. You break the promise no one saw you make.
No hand reaches out to stop you. The world just keeps going.
People hear this and call it freedom. No referee, no rules, do as you please.
But stay with it a moment. If nothing outside you is holding the line, then nothing outside you ever was.
No law forces your hand. No one stands over you.
Whatever calls you toward the good still leaves the choosing to you.
Which means the rule was never there to catch you.
It was only ever yours to keep.
